Wow. This is NOT easy. Having owned a Sable Banesuit for a while, I figured I could do this. The key to this is the immersiveness - I have been hearing that this is the most difficult thing I could ever do in SL, and I am beginning to see why. Don’t think so? Let’s look at the list of things that happened tonight. Some are positive, some not so good.
* Saw the lovely orchid cage my sister Mai made. Truly amazing. I hope we get a chance to collaborate on it - with some good scripts it’d be welcome in any House.
* Saw some amazingly beautiful places in my Home Sim that I never realized were so gorgeous until I stopped talking and started looking. Thanks, Master Nexus and Sister Mai, for paying such attention to detail. Also found a great little nook in the mountains that I think I can call “mine”. Getting good at identifying it on the map.
* Had two maintenance sessions today. All I can say: ewwww.
* Saw my family from a distance. That’s painful… I wanted nothing more than to run to them and spent time in their arms, yet I can’t. I am Bane.
* Got two contact violations, resulting in an extension of my sentence. Yow.
* Learning what I can do within the constraints of Banishment, the Banesuit, and the Custodian… and what I can’t. Specifically, how far I can push the rules before I get zaaaappped. You’d be amazed what you CAN do if you put your mind to it, heehee.
* Was buzzed by an experimental Tie Interceptor. Only in SL, lol.
* Was chased over by KelleyTech by some mean spirited people. Apparently “bane hunting” is becoming a sport. The idea is to cause the banes to rack up longer sentences by forcibly invading their space. Not fun - believe me, the novelty of being Bane wears off quick. Getting chased by someone on horseback… hunted like an… animal… was NOT FUN.
That hurt to have happen. After narrowly avoiding several contact violations, I fled to a safe spot… Thunderbird Island.
* And while on Thunderbird Island, I was chased by a loved one. I know it was all in fun, but it still hurt. *sigh* As sad as it must have looked to run from that, I have to say, it felt ten times worse.
* Watching other family members carry on a fairly normal conversation from afar. I don’t know what’s worse, not being invited to something like that, or seeing it and KNOWING that you can’t participate.
I feel that this is just the beginning, too. It’s been a wild day of ups and downs. Right now, I just want this sentence in the Banesuit to be OVER as quickly as it can be. I entered Banishment for my own reasons, strange and possibly misguided they may have been, they were my reasons nonetheless. It’d be relatively easy to holler for my Operator and beg for this sentence to end… but I have to know how this story ends. Something tells me the ride is just beginning. In respect of that, I’m going to be shutting down my RL instant messenger for the rest of the duration of my sentence. People who want to leave me messages can drop them on my email (if you have it, great, if not… sorry, ask a family member to deliver it). Bane S-7896 is calling it a night. 15 hours, 9 minutes remaining in the sentence.

Sometimes all it takes is a rough nite to show you how beautiful the world can be, whether it be real or virtual.

Hopefully I can rest the night out here. I found a nice little hollow on Cloud 9 Island that’s quiet and off the beaten path. I figure I am due for maintenance soon, so I’ll see if that happens … then I’ll stick it out for a bit and call it a night.

I love my family. <3 This is hard, but I can do it. Only 18 more (game) hours to go.

I got a contact violation just now. This person came up to me and started talking… I didn’t see her as my back was to her.
She knocked me off my mountain.

About other banes chasing me out of areas here. I doubt many of them know about Thunderbird and Cloud 9 Islands. I won’t wind up like Katrina Bane and running from territorial battle to territorial battle. So far I’ve gotten one contact violation for listening to a conversation… heard that and scooted out of there. *sigh*. A nice little mountaintop here on Thunderbird Island is just what bane S-7896 needs.

Unexpected Benefit: get to greet the hummingbirds and dragonflies of Cloud 9 Island in the morning.

Well, just like Katrina in the story, I’ve found my resting spot for the night. A nice little thicket here in the forest on Cloud 9 Island will be my bed for the night. Even though it’s misty and foggy, the banesuit keeps me warm, so no blankets are needed. Looking up at my room in Master’s house makes me sad though… I could be up there in my bed right now. Instead, I’m deaf and dumb (No wisecracks, Fatima!) and sleeping like a deer in the bushes. My first hour of a 24 hour sentence has ended. Hasn’t been too bad yet… but I imagine as family is online, and things get more active, it’ll get harder. On to day two!

Maybe this wasn’t such a bright idea, after all.
