DDR Extreme Goal Accomplishment

December 8th, 2007 by neural

yay! Go me!

back in early June…

hrm. now that I look at it, it’s very nearly half a year ago today that I started playing DDR seriously as an exercise program.

Anyway, I started out with DDR Extreme and a flimsy plastic “diaper dancepad”. In those early days when I felt like I was going to keel over and die trying to pass Jet World with something above a C, I made a goal for myself. Someday, I would have a minimum of an A score on all songs that had a “beginner” level. This was a huge goal, but I figured I’d go for it.
By mid-July, I had knocked out all but about 5 of those songs. By mid-August it was down to just two. Drop Out, and Legend of Max. I scored an A on Drop Out sometime in August.
In the meantime, I had purchased a few more DDR games. Extreme II, Supernova, and DDR Max2. So was a bit distracted overall, but I rotate my games for variety and all, so I was playing Extreme now and then, progressing further in many of the songs at Light and Standard levels. But Legend of Max still was sitting there with a “B” staring at me. Taunting me.

Well, that ended tonight. I finally got my A score, and with that acheived the first major goal I ever set for myself with DDR.
To top it off, I got an AA on Only You (Heavy), which completes an AA on all levels for that song

I’ve also started beginning my workout by wearing a pair of 3lb. ankle weights. When I start to feel bogged down and tired, I take those off and feel like flying. Now all I gotta do is figure out a way to get my upper body worked out.
