I have been waiting….. waiting and waiting for my owner, but she has not come. I pray that she will come back to me. She is many weeks overdue and I begin to seriously worry. I hope beyond hope that she will contact me.

Rezday

Today is my Rezday….. one year in SL. Time goes so quickly.
THe last thing I ever expected to happen happened today. I was greeted with a message from Dee when I logged on. This threw the whole of our group into a state of confusion. We had all given up on Dee: she had been absent without warning or notice for more than two months. It was such a shock for us to get notice from her. We do not know what to expect.
It really wasn not much of a rezday. I wore a cake on me head and shared it with a couple of friends, but most of my time I spent talking with people about what Dee’s return would mean for the Ranch.
I really wish my owner could have been here this day.

Setting up The Poles

Cheryl and I tried to get the pole bending to work today. We called in the makers, but, once they left again, we could not get the system laid out correctly. It was a bit frustrating. Tomorrow is another day, and a special one. I plan to do no work tomorrow, but to spend my time visiting friends.

Pole Bending

Cheryl is just full of ideas and gadgets! She has something called “Pole Bending.” Normally, it is used for horses, but I think that we can get it to work for carting as well. It is just like the Slalom, but it has a wider spacing between the poles which, I think, will work rather well for carting competitions. We tried to set it up, but it gave us some troubles.

Finish Line

Another addition to the track: a finish line for the races. I think we will have a bit of trouble trying to get the finish line and the starting gates to work together, but, all in all, they are a great combination. I look forward to being able to compete with other ponies, to pull my owner around the track and try my best to win for her. It should be tremendous fun!

Starting Gates

Cheryl likes the look of the Track, and she picked up something very useful for it: starting gates. I think they are a wonderful addition to the sim. They give the feel that ponies will really be competing in a race. It was great of Cheryl to pick those up for us. I am really happy with them.

More Work on The Track

I made the fences high ones, and I placed a brick island in the center of the track. I also decorated it with some images that I found online. They give the impression, I hope, of advertisements that go around a racetrack, except that these are more western in feel. I sort of like the impression that they give.

The Track

I am placing a track in the center of this newest level. Instead of using a large, granite affair, as I had done with the coliseum, I am going to use fencing - something with a more western feel to it. I want people to have the impression that they really are visiting an old ranch. Mixing styles did not work. I hope that this will.

Underground

I laid out the roads today for the newest level. Instead of a bridge, I will give my owner what she wanted: an underground tunnel. I will use the idea of the cave from the coliseum level, and combine it with the tunnel. I think the two ideas shoule mesh well.
